Updated Wednesday, October 12, 2022 p>Oct. 12, 2022. One day away form official Biketoberfest 2022. Suzuki has been the only one giving demo rides at the Daytona Speedway all week. Mainstreet Station had live bands 4 days ago on Main St. Iron Horse saloon front parking was full all weekend. A lot of 3 wheelers motorcycles are in town at the beginning of the week. Hurricane damage that you will see are piles of trees and branches infront of almost every property, 20% of the business signs damaged, some roof damage here and there, etc.
Rain at 70% on Thursday then sunny for Fri., Sat., and Sunday
Riding weather will be good, 80 degrees F to 65 degrees F at night.

Oct. 5, 2022. Prebiketoberfest. Another bike event in Daytona Beach area is 7 days away. After three days of flooding, most of the area is dry.

(September 28, 2022)Two weeks away from Biketoberfest and 1 day away from the destruction from Hurricane Ian.

Sunday, March 6 bike show at Hog Pen across from Iron Horse. The show bikes will be in the grass field next to U.S. 1 Northbound. Parking is free. Bring a board or something to put under your kick stand(park at your own risk according to the sign.). First entrance is at the Volusia County Sheriff crossing the highway from the Iron Horse. There is a second entrance if you miss the first entrance. Registration 12 to 4, awards at 5pm.

     In the March 1 press release, it states Buell's booth is 100 yards away from JP. See the 100 yard booth 001.JPG 002.JPG. In reality the booth is 100 to 300 feet north in the parking lot across the street from JP as seen in the 2 youtube (March 5) videos of the unveiling-dirt-bike-prototype.
     The 100 yard booth is at the entry point 038.JPG for destination daytona(during bikeweek events) on a 2 lane road with a quarter mile of parking.
     Erik Buell(no longer part of Buell Motorcycles) is now with Fuell.

Before biketoberfest 2021, US covid deaths will be more than 700,000.

We are going to talk about a long-time photographer Horst from Germany. I have seen him photographing bikes for 20 years with his long telescopic lens. We spoke for the first time at biketoberfest 2019 before covid. His job is selling photos to magazines. Ted Smith has complained there are less and less magazines to put ads in to sell his tee-shirts.

The bike is being transported from Miami to New York. Someone offered the transporter $7000 cash in Miami for the bike.

Bike Week 2021 in Daytona Beach area

80th Anniversary of Daytona Bike Week, March 5-14, 2021.

The 80th anniversary of Bike Week is happening in Daytona Beach this March 5-14 with plans in place to help prevent the spread of COVID-19. City commissioners approved the Bike Week 2021 Private Property Master Plan submitted by the Daytona Beach Regional Chamber's Bike Week Festival Task Force at their Jan. 20 commission meeting. As part of the plan, outside vendors will be permitted. Businesses that are in the Master Plan (including some on Main Street) will have to limit capacity inside to 60% to help promote social distancing.

Today is Wednesday. Riding weather has been good for the last few days.

From now until the end of bike week, riding weather will be down to 50's at night and low 70's in the daytime.

Saturday, they said rain but not hail.

Biker were greeted with 1/2 inch size hail for about 10 minutes with about 1/2 inch of rain in 15 minute period around 10:55am.

Today is Friday with nice riding weather with some wind at Daytona Bike Week 2021 on its first day.

As noted 2 years ago with BMW media blitz, Buell is doing theirs this year with �Buell is back!�.

We interviewed a Buell racing shop at Biketoberfest 2020 that won first place in engineering at the Bike Show(Rat's Hole).

Buell will be present at Daytona Bike Week 2021 at J&P Cycles Destination Daytona Mega Store.

Buell Motorcycles "will launch 10 performance models by the 2024 model year."

Tomorrow on Saturday will have 80% chance of rain.

Unfortunately after 31 years of publication, American Iron Magazine is a victim of COVID and the damage it has done to the advertisers and their support of the magazine.
After struggling with the financial issues of COVID, and the sudden collapse of advertising support, we ran out of funds. The magazine has been shut down so suddenly we didn't have time to print a last issue with our good-bye and thanks. We are sorry to say there is no money left to refund subscribers and we are out of options.
We want to thank everyone for the great support and say good bye. It's been a great ride.

American Flat Track "https://www.americanflattrack.com/" will be racing at the Daytona Speedway for 2 days during Biketoberfest. AFT Season Finale I and AFT Season Finale II.

The Midway area, and Harley-Davidson Thunder Alley and all of its activities during 2020 Fall Cycle Scene in October, will not be in operation. The DAYTONA 200 that was rescheduled from March and was to be held during the Fall Cycle Scene on October 17, 2020 has been canceled. The 2021 DAYTONA 200 will be held March 13."

Sad news for Beach St. as approx. 20% is blocked off by construction.

The year of Covid. On Sept. 22, 2020 approx. 200,000 people has died from the virus in the U.S.

Vendors and event holders are currently undecided about this year's event.

According to Daytona Beach Area Convention & Visitors Bureau "The DAYTONA 200 that was rescheduled from March and was to be held during the Fall Cycle Scene on October 17, 2020 has been canceled. The 2021 DAYTONA 200 will be held March 13. Plans for the 2020 DAYTONA TT race and the Championship Cup Series road-racing program are expected to announce in the near future." as stated on 9/11/2020.

City of Daytona Beach "As well as issuing the emergency declaration, as of 8 a.m. Saturday, March 14, the city is revoking all city-issued permits for..." No t-shirts, jackets, insurance sales, food, bike sales, liquor, etc. Progressive Insurance, "closed", Boss Hoss, "closed", American Iron Outfitters, "closed", Rats Hole t-shirts, "closed", Rats Hole food, "closed", Rats Hole liquor/beer/soda/water, "closed", NexGen "closed". City of Ormond Beach kept their events open.

3/4/2020. Hog Pen announced that it will have free bike parking this year which is across from the Iron Horse and next to Boot Hill Outpost. You can't miss the entrance to Hog Pen as the pedestrian walk way across U.S. 1 connects the two properites. On the Hog Pen side of the highway(east side) going north you have Hog Pen, Boot Hill Outpost, Beaver Bar, Broker Spoke(owned by Iron Horse), and then at the end Smiley's Tap(One of the oldest bar in the area '60). We will have more interviews coming up this week on the history of Bike Week.
